It’s true. There’s something so perfect about the combination of peanut butter and banana. It can be perfectly displayed on a piece of artisan (annoying word) bread, a whole wheat tortilla, or an old leather shoe. Hell, I don’t care. Just give me the fatty, salty, protein-y goodness of the original (and under-appreciated) nut butter combined with the perfectly protected fruit that is often accused of having too much sugar. Bring on the salt and sugar. Bring on the fat. They work perfectly for my pre-workout, post-workout, late night and early morning fueling needs; so much so that I’m sure I was one of many coaches who recommended this perfect meal for a nutrition article at IRONMAN.com .
